Collaboration with phage pioneer Invitris

As an experienced pharma consulting firm, we are proud to support companies developing innovative and life-changing medicines.

We enjoy collaborating with Invitris, a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich, that is developing a groundbreaking platform for scaling the synthesis of antimicrobial proteins like bacteriophages. These medications are intended as an alternative to antibiotics in the fight against multi-resistant bacteria.

To ensure the necessary GMP standards in production, Invitris has teamed up with PharmaKorell to conduct exploratory audits of potential production sites.

We wish Dr. Patrick Grossmann, Dr. Kilian Vogele, and their team all the best for the next phase of their scaling activities, made possible thanks to the recently approved stage-2 funding from INCATEurope, the European incubator for antibacterial therapies.

The question of the month: How do you describe the working atmosphere at PharmaKorell?

We asked our team member Susanne Zwicky-Beisele to share her impressions of the work atmosphere at PharmaKorell. Here is her response:

"I've been with PharmaKorell for 20 months now, initially as a consultant and then as a senior consultant. After a swift, fair, and transparent application process, I was keen to bring my many years of pharmaceutical experience to the table. From day one, I felt welcome. My workspace was fully prepared, even boasting a bouquet of sunflowers.

I appreciate the open communication with the management and all colleagues, regardless of whether they work in Lörrach (like me), Munich or from home. Unity, appreciation and trust are lived values in our environment. My workday is diverse, exciting, and challenging. In our team, new ideas emerge, which are implemented collectively and propel us forward.

The modern offices allow for focused, peaceful work. But there's also no shortage of shared fun, be it barbecuing, out on our annual company trip, or sitting together at a nice meal at the end of the year."

BioValley Companies Day

We are excited to participate in the BioValley Companies Day at the SolarInfoCenter Freiburg today.

34 renowned regional companies and representatives from scientific institutions will share their expertise in 10-minute presentations. PharmaKorell's founder and managing director, Dr. Ulrich Korell, will take the stage at 14:20 to highlight our role as a pharma outsourcing company and discuss topics such as quality management, QP certification, personnel placement, cross-border pharmaceutical services, business development, and pharma logistics.

BioValley Germany represents the science and economic cluster of the region around Freiburg, Basel, and Strasbourg – one of the leading biotech hubs in Europe.

Packaging solutions in a cleanroom environment

We are pleased to offer our customers comprehensive packaging services. In addition to our existing secondary packaging solutions such as labeling and cartoning, we have also been offering primary packaging in a cleanroom environment (air particle class A, microbiology class D) for the past two years.

Our flexibility is demonstrated, for example, by our ability to accept orders at short notice and handle frozen products. Through our high quality standards and proprietary certification processes, we can act as a one-stop-shop. No additional audit is required for packaging, as we provide all services in-house.

New meeting room in Lörrach

Our monthly Jour Fixe is always an important date in our calendar. We are excited to gather in our large new meeting room in Lörrach, which was created by removing a wall.
Our staff count has grown by 50% within a year. Although our larger new table is still being custom-made (the picture shows the old meeting table), we are already pleased with the additional space available.

New PharmaKorell office in Munich receives Manufacturing and Import Authorisation

We are pleased to announce that our new location in Munich has successfully passed the inspection by the Government of Upper Bavaria and now holds its own Manufacturing and Import Authorisation (MIA) for drug products. This means that we are now able to offer QP batch certification in Munich - one of the most important pharmaceutical hubs in Europe.

PharmaKorell has been holding a MIA in Baden-Württemberg (Lörrach) since 2013. The additional MIA in Munich further strengthens our flexibility and efficiency during the certification process. Batch certificates issued by our Lörrach and our Munich office are valid and recognised throughout the entire European Union and the EEA. Furthermore, we are authorised to certify batches for use in clinical trials in the United Kingdom and Switzerland.

The company is delighted to welcome back Lucia Vitellozzi to the team as from today. Lucia has previously worked at PharmaKorell from 2018 to 2021, and is now rejoining us - this time primarily in the role of Business Development with focus on Italy.

With her international work experience and solid background in pharmaceutical quality management, Lucia is not only a valued team member but also a perfect addition to our multidisciplinary team. We are thrilled to be working together with Lucia on exciting projects again.
